Linux Journal, Boing Boing, and NSA Surveillance

profilepic-stampRecently, a German publication revealed that the rules the NSA is using to monitor traffic (including traffic originating in the US) to and from the Linux Journal and  Boing Boing in an effort to monitor people who use Tor and Tails.  The government code specifically called Linux Journal an “extremist” site. These are perfectly legal tools that allow users to use the Internet without being tracked and use their computers without being hacked into.  Tor was initially written by the US Government in order to enable folks in countries with oppressive governments to communicate in secret.

I’ve renewed my lapsed subscription to Linux Journal.
